War, earthquakes, floods, drought, famine – time and time again, Jugend Eine Welt receives calls for help from all over the world. Then it is important to act quickly, because the people in the affected areas need help fast.
While many aid organizations need days to reach the disaster areas, Jugend Eine Welt, thanks to its project partners, is quickly on the scene and knows the local conditions.
Street children and working children are omnipresent in Nigeria's major cities. Back in 2018, Jugend Eine Welt's project partners opened a small drop-in center for children and young people living on the streets in the Nigerian city of Lagos. Here, children receive temporary care, food, medical treatment and education. However, there is only room for around 15 children to stay in this small center for a longer period of time. Now, with the help of Jugend Eine Welt, a new Child Protection Center for girls and boys as well as training workshops are being built.
The daily struggle for survival of the population in Venezuela has spread from the poor neighborhoods to the entire country. Food prices, crime and violence have risen enormously. The omnipresent hopelessness has led many people to flee abroad. Children and young people are being left behind and the quality of education is suffering enormously. Places of hope are urgently needed! Together with our local project partners, Jugend Eine Welt looks after children and young people from poor backgrounds in social centers and provides them with high-quality schooling and vocational training. Because education overcomes poverty.
